Li Tong Group Award by the HSBC Living Business Awards 2008
The Li Tong Group has been awarded merit certificate by the HSBC Living Business Awards 2008 program. The HSBC Living Business Award is a corporate responsibility program aimed to help enterprises become more profitable, responsible and productive by implementing socially and environmentally responsible business practices. The judging is based on 4 major criteria including:
- Commitment to environmental protection,
- Excellence in employee management
- Achievements in community development
- Overall management quality and effectiveness.
The program recognized Li Tong Group as a company that has made an outstanding contribution to the environment and community in Hong Kong and to sustaining long-term business success.
The Li Tong Group business ethos embeds a commitment to environmental protection, and through this Li Tong Group provide global solutions to the problems of electronic waste and component disposal and recycling. These solution include electronic recycling, reverse logistics, asset management and data security; and advising clients on related sustainability management issues. Li Tong Group’s overall aim is to achieve a Zero Landfill operational basis.
Li Tong Group is consistently reviewing and improving its management quality. Alongside ISO9001 and 14001 we have implemented the ‘7S’ management system (Sorting, Systematization, Sanitize, Standardization, Self-discipline, Save and Safety) and we also embrace the principles of SA8000 and practice no discrimination in the work place.
In addition to providing professional recycling, reverse logistics, asset and data management services, Li Tong Group also contributes and supports a wide range of social and community affairs. Conducting recycling campaign with educational institute i.e. Shatin IVE and Swire group. For swire group, we collected waste electronics from the following sites: City Plaza, Festival Walks, Pacific Place, Taikoo Place. Over the last 12 months we have actively participated in the projects and initiatives organized by the Hong Kong Government, local enterprises, organizations and institutions. The recycled values collected from a number of the vendors programs has been donated to charity and environmental protection organizations.
