Li Tong Group Awarded a Tenancy in EcoPark
December 2007, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) awarded one of the two tenancies of the Batch 2 lots in EcoPark Phase I in Tuen Mun Area 38 to the Li Tong Group (LTG). LTG signed the contract in January 2008 and LTG is now in the process of planning and obtaining all the necessary permissions from the appropriate HK Government authorities.
In order to promote the local recycling industry, the HKSAR government has set out a comprehensive policy including the allocation of suitable land, encouraging research and development, introducing environmental legislation and providing effective support measures to support the recycling industry. To this end, the EcoPark is a key element that aims to promote the local recycling industry and jump-start a circular economy to provide a sustainable solution to Hong Kong waste problems.
As one of the pioneers of Hong Kong recycling industry, LTG has responded positively and actively to the policy. We have met the HKSAR strict requirements for being awarded the Eco Park tenancy and clearly demonstrated our experience in operating an effective recycling business. This expertise and experience enabled LTG to achieve the highest combined score and be awarded a tenancy.
As one of the tenants in the Eco Park, LTG will employ high value-added processes and environmentally efficient production equipment to maximize product recovery. LTG plans to establish the new recycling centre within 2008/2009 and shall be demonstrating state-of-the-art processes in electronics recycling. |
